Virtual Cards Technical Aspects & API Monetization & Business Models

What is WantToPay API?

WantToPay API is a platform that allows you to issue branded virtual Visa prepaid cards without needing a license or building your own infrastructure. We provide a turnkey solution for fintech integrations.
Cards are issued via a licensed Visa issuer and fully comply with international financial regulations. You gain a transparent and secure legal framework to launch a scalable card product.

Virtual Visa Prepaid Card: Key Features

WantToPay issues virtual prepaid Visa cards for online use. The card is issued digitally and includes card number, expiry date, and CVV, delivered instantly upon creation.
  • Currency: USD
  • Type: Non-reloadable (single top-up at issue)
  • Validity: 2 months (varies by partner plan)
  • Security: 3D Secure supported
  • Use Cases: Online purchases, SaaS tools, subscriptions, digital platforms, B2B services
Cards are accepted by any online merchant supporting Visa Debit. A built-in MCC filter prevents transactions in prohibited categories such as gambling or adult content.

How Card Issuance via API Works

  1. Partner funds a master balance in USDT via a dedicated wallet.
  2. WantToPay deducts commission and credits the net amount to the partner’s internal balance.
  3. Cards are issued through API with defined amounts and unique credentials.
The process is fully automated and can be integrated into your platform interface.

Legal Structure and Compliance

Cards are issued by a licensed Visa issuer through a legally compliant model. WantToPay handles the issuer relationship and ensures full regulatory compliance (AML, KYC, sanctions screening).
Each card is technically issued on behalf of WantToPay, but tied to your verified legal entity and intended use case. This ensures legal protection across all stakeholders.
WantToPay does not support grey or circumventive models. Only legitimate business use cases with transparent fund flow are allowed. Transactions with sanctioned merchants or countries are blocked by default.
